The Society will be launching its new webinar series with pre-recorded video from the Mid-Hudson Regional Symposium held in July.  This is NYSSO’s first foray into online professional development, both for credit and for knowledge.  We plan to offer webinars on a regular basis that will be an additional benefit to NYSSO members.

Many of our webinars will cover developing trends, important information to remain current and competitive, that are necessary and not for credit.

The following online sessions will provide 2.5 hours of continuing education credit, available for viewing on Sunday, Oct. 11th from 6-8:30 p.m  and repeated on Wednesday, Oct. 14th from 7:15-9:45 p.m. The topics covered in these sessions include "Building Mental Resilience in the Post-Pandemic Era" presented by: Dr. Marissa Ferrazzo-Weller and  a panel discussion entitled “What Is Essential to Remain Essential?” that includes opticians Dale Clemens, John Bonizio, Michael Frayler, Prof.  Joseph Sollecito, Jim Muniz, Dir. Training & Development at Digital Optometrics and Dr. Ferrazzo-Weller.

Included in the webinar is a 27 minute non-credit presentation on “Unlocking Social Media” presented  by Moses Nawlo that will offer valuable tips on this topic and is the first installment of this series.
