Save the date for In-Person Education on Sunday, April 23 at Erie Community College!

Four Hours of Continuing Education, including:
"Reduce Employee Liability Without Breaking the Bank," Presented by Lisa Coppola of Coppola Law Firm
Two Hours, Business Management, Basic
This two-hour session will open with a primer on sexual harassment prevention followed by a
fast-paced survey of the newest New York State and federal laws that implicate workplace
policies and procedures. 2023 has already seen numerous new statutes and regulations, both
proposed and fully passed, that materially affect opticians across the State, from Montauk to
Niagara Falls and, notably, create risk for practice owners and managers. This need-to-know
information will empower attendees so that they’re fully armed to address employment-related
legal issues. There will be ample time for Q&A.
Your Presenter
Lisa A. Coppola, Esq. understands the challenges her clients face, whether they’re starting a
new business, taking their existing operations in a new direction, or facing a claim or
threat. She particularly enjoys working with the underdog, because her compassion and
creativity – and she has plenty of both – are put to the test.
In the 30-plus years she has practiced law in New York, Ms. Coppola has actively litigated
cases in State and Federal courts. She has a breadth of experience in litigation, employment
law, and advising businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals. She is as
comfortable before a jury as she is before appellate and arbitration panels, and she has a
sweet spot for counseling and coaching business owners and executive management.
Ms. Coppola is the Chair Elect of the National Association of Women Business Owners’
national board of directors and is a member of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s
Region II Regulatory Fairness Board, serving New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, and the U.S.
Virgin Islands.
More courses and description to be announced later this week!
